He walks towards class no.321 which was supposed to be English
class.
·
He enters the class and sits on the back bench whereas there
were some seats empty in the front and middle rows.
·
He usually sits on the back bench because he thinks that if he
sits on front then every single student will make fun of him by looking at his
face.
·
Because of disabled face he has lost interest in studies neither
he wants to attend school’s classes.
·
Mr. Browne enters the class while he is still hesitated and
worried that who will be sitting next to him.
·
Mr. Browne is tall, fair and he has yellow stripes on his beard.
·
Mr. Browne turns towards the chalkboard and starts writing but
students are still entering late in the class.
·
Most of the students did not like to sit beside August Pullman because
of his disabled face.
·
Suddenly Jack enters the class straight towards the back bench and
sits beside August Pullman.
·
The second rings Mr. Browne introduces himself with the class,
he keeps on noticing August Pullman's face but continues discussing with the
class.
·
August Pullman is behaving like he is scribbling something on
his notebook.
·
He is actually pretending of writing the names of the students who are present who
the present in the class on his notebook.
·
Charlotte a girl is present, Henry, Julian is present and Miles
is absent.
·
Mr. Browne again turns towards the chalkboard and writes
“PRECEPT” on the board and tells his students to write the same on their note
copies.
·
Mr. Browne asks the students the meaning of “PRECEPT” but none
student raises their hand to answer Mr. Browne’s question.
·
Mr. Browne smiles and turns towards the chalkboard and writes the
meaning of precept. “Rules of important
things”
·
After reading this students predicts their answers on “PRECEPT”
·
Some students shout out Motto and Mr. Browne says yes like a
motto. Some says its a line about fortune cookies, some says its a motivation
quotes.
·
Mr. Browne writes everything said on the board and tells that it’s
a way to guide important things.
·
Again the students begins their prediction saying its about
family, parents pets. One girl said “The Environment” while Mr Browne keeps on
writing on the chalkboard.
·
One boy named Reid said it’s Shark because they eat all the dead
fishes and Mr. Browne wrote shark on the board.
·
Mr Browne turned around and says you all have tried it all but no
one has named the most important thing.
·
Every single student looked at him and one student said “God”
but that wasn’t the correct answer that Mr. Browne was looking for.
·
Mr. Browne wrote “Who we are”
·
What kind of people are We?
·
What kind of people are you?
·
Isn’t that the most important thing?
·
Isn’t that a kind of question we should be asking ourselves?
·
What kind of person am I?
·
Mr. Browne asks the students “have you all noticed the plaque
next to the college gate?
·
What does it say?
·
Mr. Browne looked around but no one could answer his question.
·
Mr. Browne tells it says “Know thyself” and learning who you are
is here what you’re here to do.
·
Jack says “I thought we were here to learn English and everyone
in the class laughed at his joke.
·
Mr. Browne say Oh yes! That too
·
Mr. Browne writes on the board “Mr Browne’s September precept:
when given the choice between being right or being good, choose kind.”
·
Mr. Browne gave a assignment and the idea about writing a
precept and says I want everyone to write this precept in your summer
vacations.
·
One girl asked “people really do that”?
·
Mr. Browne answers “yes” and I’ve had students who sends me
their precept even now since they have been graduated long time ago.
· As the conversation finished August realised that no matter what I’ve to go to school even if students tease me of my disabled face.
